The Android app itself is server only, so it is limited to sharing whatever is plugged into it, you can’t use it to access other devices that are connected to Flexihub. Hardly the only way to get the job done, but it’s expedient and secure. As someone that uses external drives for my photo and video content on a regular basis, I can absolutely see the value in using Flexihub to share a drive with one of my coworkers when I’m at an event, instead of my uploading it Dropbox or Google Drive only to have them download it again it will go straight to them. Sure there are countless online storage options, but most of them cost quite a bit for higher storage tiers and of course, you have to upload the content to them first. Now obviously this is contingent on your having a device with Flexihub plugged into the printer, but assuming you check that box the printer will work 100% of the time and you can print from anywhere or again conveniently you can let a friend or colleague print by simply sharing the connection rather than getting them set up on the printer too. This is the most obvious option and again I’m certain that plenty of you have printers that do offer wireless printing already, but at least with the last few printers I’ve had I feel like this fails with such regularity that I end up spending more time troubleshooting it than it’s worth and I end up plugging a cable back into it. If you have any ideas on potential use cases for Flexihub we’d love to hear from you in the comments too as I’m not going to begin to comprehensively cover everything you could do with Flexihub as it will connect you up to any USB or COM (Serial) port device and the options there are virtually limitless. Now there are a couple obvious use cases for this software so we’ll cover those quickly and then take a look at a few of the less obvious options. From there you can use that hardware exactly as if it were physically connected to your device. You simply plug the hardware that you would like to connect to or share to one of your hub devices and it will instantly appear in the Flexihub app. You’ll register your account through Flexihub and be on your way. ![]() Once you have the software installed on the hub devices there’s really nothing else to the basic functionality of the app. Just got to the Flexihub download page and you’ll find the links for each one. The Flexihub app is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, and of course Android. ![]() Once you have created your Flexihub account on their site the next step is to install the app on any computers or mobile devices that you will be connecting to the hardware you would like to access remotely. Let’s take a deeper dive on how Flexihub works and what exactly you can do with it as it is certainly a niche app and at first glance, some won’t see the utility, but for those that need it this app is could become an absolutely crucial tool. Need to share some files from an external hard drive or flash drive with a friend or colleague? Just plug it into the USB-C port on your smartphone and you can share access to that drive with them instantly. Flexihub gets around both these problems, as in my time with it I haven’t had it fail me once and it is essentially instant on the moment you plug a device into a computer or smartphone with Flexihub installed.įlexihub also offers 256-bit SSL encryption, so even for file transfers which you likely have other options for, this is going to be more secure than most. Now your first reaction is probably going to be, “Isn’t basically everything already connected anyway?” To some degree that is certainly true, a lot of printers and other USB based devices offer wireless connectivity, but from personal experience, these connections can be flakey and they also sometimes require that you be on the same network to make use of them. Anything that you have connected to a device with Flexihub installed is accessible and shareable from anywhere that you have an internet connection. Flexihub is a unique piece of software that essentially allows you to create your own personal cloud of devices. ![]() It's worth noting, however, that it should not be hung on a slanted or sloped ceiling. The time expired to edit my original post and update it - but I just found a way to make the trip planner give me a route and it looks totally workable for us to ride Trax from SLC to Draper, timewise anyway. We would really appreciate any experiences you can share. We will be arriving on a Friday afternoon at 12:45pm.Ĭan anyone comment on this, both about the connection and logistics as well as a rough idea of the time it would take? I am planning to call UTA as well about the routing and where/how to transfer, but we are really interested in finding out whatever we can about riding the train before actually doing it. It looks like the closest light rail station to her location is Draper Town Center on Pioneer Rd. I tried it also breaking the trip up into two segments but no luck. I've looked at the UTA website trying to piece together a route and it looks like green line from airport to Salt Lake City central station and then blue line down to Draper, but when I use the trip planner it says no routes are available. We won't need a car once we are there so it doesn't make too much sense to rent a car just to get to her location from the airport, then turn around and return it the next day. Thinking of riding Trax from SLC airport to a station in Draper where a relative can pick us up - far easier for us to ride to her location (even with switching trains) instead of her driving up to airport. ![]() “Why is your history part of the core curriculum and mine an elective?” With social media, student protests become memes, asking administrators and faculty a central question: They did not initiate it, yet they are included in school and university curricula whereas Black contributions to arts and sciences are not. presidents Abraham Lincoln and Lyndon Johnson signed anti-slavery and anti-racism legislation. For this we will change the brush from Box Mode to Voxel Mode. Now we have the basic structure for our dog we can make the nose. Use the image below as an example.Īgain let’s use the Face Mode brush to duplicate the first layer another four times just like you did with the base so that the head becomes taller. Make sure to go in 1 voxel all the way around so that the head is smaller than the body. Using the same technique start on one corner and drag to the other side. Now that we finished the base of the body, let’s create the head section of our voxel dog! Let’s switch back to the Box Mode brush. Now that you have the correct brush, simply click on the top of our layer of voxels we made 4 times. This brush selects all voxels at the same level and adds a layer so that we don’t have to manually drag using Box Mode brush. Select the Face Mode Brush instead of the Box Mode Brush in the tool bar on the left. ![]() Use the image below as a guide.Īwesome! Now we could repeat this, but there is an easier way to duplicate voxels. Now to create the base, tap on one corner of the grid and drag to the opposite side to create a rectangle of voxels. Instead we will select the Box Mode brush (This is highlighted below in the toolbar on the left). ![]() However we want to create more than one voxel so we will change that. Currently the Voxel Mode brush is selected. These are brush types that you can use to add voxels. On the bottom left you’ll notice the single square icon is selected. Go ahead and click the Edit icon to begin editing your model. Once it is selected you should see a context menu appear right above your grid. When you’re done click Create.īasically this creates an empty grid in your scene. Lastly make sure that Fill Grid is not selected because we want our grid to be empty. Once open you can give your new scene a name. This will open the Create New Scene menu. To create a new file select the “Create New” button.
